Frequently Asked Questions

When are the visiting hours?

We are allowed indoor visitation along with window and outdoor visits. If you prefer, we are still able to do Video calls as well. Please call us at

(510)797-5300 to schedule your visitation.

Is there a limit to the number of people who can visit at one time?

Yes. There may be up to two visitors at a time during this emergency period. Please call us at (510)797-5300 to ask about window visits and video calling.

Is there any private space available to use?
Visitation rooms are available. Resident's rooms may only be utilized if there is no roommate present.

How often will a physician or health professional visit?
Physicians may visit every 30 days in person or by Tele-Medicine visit. Our nursing staff is in contact with physicians for any change of condition and when necessary.

What articles of clothing should I bring?
We recommend approximately five changes of clothing and a pair of comfortable rubber-soled shoes. All articles should be washed, clearly labeled with the resident’s name in permanent ink and entered into the patients’ personal inventory log in the medical chart. Other personal items should be marked or engraved for identification. We advise that patients do not keep valuable jewelry or large amounts of cash in the facility.  If necessary, valuables can be placed in the Business Office safe.

Clothing and Laundry Tips:  All personal clothing is washed in an industrial washing machine at a temperature of 180-degrees. Make sure your loved ones clothing is appropriate for washing and drying in these hot temperatures. Clothing that requires cold or warm water or special care is subject to fading and damage. All clothing must be labeled. Please label the clothing with the resident’s name, NOT the room number or initials. Mark clearly and in large letters on the inside neckline or waistband. All items must be marked including socks, shoes, and other personal items.

Will I be required to do my loved ones laundry?

Bed and bath linens are provided and laundered by the facility. Personal clothing can also be laundered by the facility at no charge. If you would prefer to do laundry for your loved one, please inform the Business Office. You will need to supply a clothing hamper/basket for dirty clothes and ensure laundry is done at least once a week to comply with State regulations.

Can I bring in my loved one's favorite food?

Yes, food may be brought to the facility for a resident for a particular meal. The meal should be served in appropriate disposable container(s). Any food appropriate for the bedside must be in sealed, pest proof packaging.
